John C. Koechel was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 28, 1971, and was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1996 and U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas in 1998. Mr. Koechel received his J.D. degree from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1996, a B.A. from Vanderbilt University in 1993, and an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business in 2003. Mr. Koechel was raised in the Fort Worth area and graduated from Trinity Valley School in 1989. Prior to attending business school, he practiced with firms in Fort Worth and later in Austin. Mr. Koechel concentrated his practice in civil litigation and represented corporations, small businesses, banks, building and utility contractors, professionals, trucking companies, healthcare providers, and insurance companies in all phases of commercial, environmental, and personal injury lawsuits. Mr. Koechel returned to the Dallas-Fort Worth area in 2001 to attend business school, where he was a Cox Family Endowed Scholar and a Dallas Gordon Rupe Endowed Scholar. Since graduating, Mr. Koechel has transitioned his practice to commercial real estate and other corporate matters. Mr. Koechel is currently a member of the Tarrant County Bar Association and the Fort Worth-Tarrant County Young Lawyers Association. He has a working knowledge of Spanish.
